We are privileged to be associated in any capacity with God’s work. As we approach the 125th anniversary of OMS it is important to look back to see how God has rewarded the faithfulness of His obedient servants in the past. We read of God’s amazing provisions at the point of need of these venerable servants, these people who had the vision to go, the first ones to start the missionary society.Â
If you have not read Missionary Warrior by Lettie B Cowman I urge you to do so. We admire them for their faith, their love for the lost, their complete assurance that they were following God’s will and resting on God’s promises. The Mission has kept the same objectives even as it has grown and changed over the decades. The name has changed, but the purpose has not. You are doing a great work, continuing to spread the word. Dream big – Charles Cowman had the vision that every village in Japan would receive the gospel within 5 years. This was at a time when there was no internet, no reliable means of transport and often no roads. The seemingly impossible became possible because God gave the increase. As long as we give the Lord Jesus Christ the pre-eminence and follow His will everything is possible. As Lettie B Cowman wrote, the worker is far more important to our Lord than the work. How wonderful!
Happy anniversary,
Cheryl, OMS PayRoll Officer
