OMS-UK Prayer Initiative – November 1-10, 2012

Paul exhorted the believers in Philippi to: “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with  thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6 God engraved Philippians 4:6 on my heart ever since Pastor Lawrence Kennedy spoke  on it at our 2010...

The Submissiveness of a yielded will

Matthew 26:39 “…… O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”  Mark 14:36; Luke 22:43 Jesus was always submissively yielded to his father. New Life in Spring

April is a month when we see many things coming to life, from the newly born lambs in the field to the daffodils in our gardens. This month we also celebrate Easter, which reminds us of the weekend that changed the world. Jesus died and rose again so that we too may ‘come alive’ in Christ and...

Holy Things

Casual with holy things!  This expression has wedged itself in my conscience since uttered by Dr. John Oswalt during OMS’ 110th Anniversary Reunion Meetings at Southport Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana in June.  The Reunion was a time of much blessing.  Equally, God spoke words of...

Like all great travellers

“Like all great travellers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.” Benjamin Disraeli. I wouldn’t call myself ‘a great traveller’ – but as one who has the privilege to travel from time-to-time, I can identify with Disraeli’s quote.  I have...

Wake up O Sleeper

The ‘call to prayer’ resonated from the local mosque. It was 6.12pm on my watch as I watched with interest as the locals, without question, query or comment, unraveled their prayer-mats and, looking eastward, prostrated themselves. I was impressed by their devotion. Then the Spirit of God quietly...
