From Around the UK

SOUTH WALES & WEST OF ENGLAND REGIONAL DAY

Randall Spacht

A good number of OMS supporters gathered at the AoG Church Newbridge on Saturday 20 September for two meetings at 3:30 & 6:30 pm.  The first speakers were Joe & Sadie Law(Mission Possible), an OMS partner organisation, working with street children in Bogota Colombia.  They were followed by Colleen Fitch, the European Theological Education Consultant; Colleen introduced the vital subject of theological training throughout Europe.  Randall Spacht, Executive Director of International Ministries, brought ministry from God’s Word, focusing on ‘The Commands of Jesus’.  Randall left a lasting impression with his thoughts from the ‘Woman at the Well’.
Following some delicious refreshments the day continued with a further meeting.
6:30 saw Robin Sloss, MFMI UK Director, speak about the 60 year anniversary of MFMI.  He encouraged men to join the team to help support OMS missionaries overseas.  Colleen Fitch brought a further update from her work in Spain as TE Consultant.  Randall brought an excellent day to a close with further ministry on the commands of Jesus.
It was also good to share fellowship on the Sunday at Newbridge where Randall brought more challenge and encouragement from the Word of God and Colleen expanded our vision of the need for theological training in Europe.
It was a blessed time spent in worship, praise and adoration of our Lord and an excellent opportunity to be challenged & encouraged by the ministry of OMS and from God’s Word.
Thanks to all who travelled to be a part of the Regional Day.

Chris Palmer – Regional Director

MEN FOR MISSIONS – CELEBRATING 60 YEARS

Men for Missions is a dynamic movement born of God’s Spirit in the hearts of laymen. Through Men for Missions, thousands of men and their families, from various church organisations and all walks of life, find a channel for utilizing and releasing personal skills and abilities in practical, direct missionary involvement. By participation in overseas witness and work teams, they catch new zeal for soul-winning at home, as well as abroad.

MFM have compiled a booklet to celebrate 60 years of Men for Missions worldwide, and to mark 45 years of Men for Mission UK. Read about the history of MFM and how you could be involved (not just for men!) The booklet includes stories, photos and testimonies from many of the volunteers.
If you would like a copy, please contact the Manchester office, enclosing £2.60 to cover costs.

MFM/OMS Sponsored Walk Easter Monday 2014

Easter Monday will be the annual MFM/OMS Sponsored walk.  Clive Bevan Men for Mission, West Gwent and Chris Palmer, OMS Wales & West, will complete a walk in order to raise funds for an OMS Bible college in the South Pacific.  In a country where Christianity is a minority faith, there is little financial support for OMS colleges; as a result all the funds raised will go towards the cost of equipment to make learning easier.
A request has been made for projectors, screens and special electrical equipment to prevent damage to the new equipment from an erratic electricity supply.  £1000 is their goal. If you are interested in supporting this ministry please send donations to OMS HQ in Manchester and mark for ‘Wales Sponsored Walk‘.

Thanks in advance for your support in helping young people learn more about the Gospel, and be better equipped to face the spiritual warfare in which they are involved.
